– David Wood is a British based Investor; Award-winning Musician and Businessman; Entrepreneur in Residence and Honorary Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University; and Leader in Residence at the University of Central Lancashire.
– He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; and has been the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate; an Honorary Fellowship; a Business of the Year Award; and a Musical Director Award.
– His business activities include: Y1 Investments, where he owns a stake in 377 enterprises around the world – d.w.I.P, where he owns 12 UK trademarks – Promenade Music, which is an award-winning music business that owns “one of the largest and best stocked music shops in the north of England” – and Faith & Hope Records; who as well as having a string of charts hits, including a UK number 1 – have had their music on major Hollywood films, the adverts of world leading brands, on television programmes globally, and were once described as “the most successful label in the city” by The Manchester Evening News.
– David is a passionate supporter of the arts and a Patron of the Halle Orchestra – a Friend of Help Musicians; the Independent Society of Musicians Trust, and the Royal College of Music – and a Member of the British Film Institute, Lancaster Footlights, the National Association of Music Merchants, and the Royal Northern College of Music.
